The handling fee is 16,000 JPY (for non-Japanese nationals) and is non-refundable. In complicated and time consuming cases the fee may be increased to 33,000 JPY. Please note that Japanese nationals are exempt from paying fee.
The Danish Immigration Service in Denmark processes all applications for residence and/or work permit. Applicants should allow a minimum of 2-4 months for processing.
The Embassy advises against making any final travel arrangements, particularly purchase of non-refundable air tickets for a specific date, prior to approval of your application.
Please remember to note your telephone number, fax number or e-mail address so the Embassy can contact you when a decision has been reached by the Danish Immigration Service.
The applicant should always present the application forms in person. In exceptional cases, such as if the applicant lives in a remote area, the applicant can choose to be represented by a third party (travel agency, family member, co-worker, friend, etc.). In such cases a power of attorney must be shown.
